Energy Shutoff Moratorium Ending

File

CenterPoint urges customers in need to contact the utility company

CenterPoint Energy is reminding customers that the State of Indiana’s winter moratorium on power shut offs ends this week. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The moratorium protects customers who have applied for support through income-qualified programs, such as the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program – or LIHEAP.

The moratorium ends Friday, and CenterPoint is urging customers who need assistance to contact the utility company to discuss options.

CenterPoint says it’s implemented a number of programs to provide continued support beyond the moratorium’s end.

Services include the Keep Service On program and the Special Payment Arrangement.

Customers concerned about potential service disconnection or in need of payment assistance are urged to contact CenterPoint at 800-227-1376.
