The University of Evansville is among eight recipients of a 2.2 million dollar trust. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The university says the Robert and Patricia Johnson Trust will provide more than $276,000 to support student scholarships at UE.
University spokesman Noah Alatza says the gesture reflects the Johnsons' belief in the “transformative power of education and their commitment to uplifting future generations.”
UE says the Johnsons have had a profound impact on the community, particularly in New Harmony.
Robert was a farmer and Pat was an educator who UE says embodied values of hard work, service, and a deep commitment to community betterment.
Patricia Johnson graduated for what was then Evansville College in 1945.
The university says the couple’s enduring dedication continues to “inspire countless individuals.”
