The risk of severe weather has increased in the Tri-State. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The National Weather Service has put the Evansville area at an “enhanced risk” for severe storms Tuesday night, upgraded from an earlier slight risk.
Forecasters say confidence has increased for damaging winds, large hail, and possible tornadoes as a strong cold front approaches from the northwest.
A Wind Advisory remains in effect for the Tri-State through 3 a.m.
Forecasters are calling for non-storm wind gusts of 35-to-45 miles an hour.
They say the stormy weather will be followed by much cooler air with the expected high on Wednesday in the upper 30’s.
Temperatures are expected to dip into the mid-20’s Wednesday night, after a record high of 77 on Monday.
