This week’s spring-like weather is being replaced by a wintry blast. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for southwest Indiana and southeast Illinois.
It’s in effect until 9:00 Friday night.
Forecasters are calling for up to two inches of wet snow.
The weather service advises drivers to plan on slippery road conditions.
Forecasters say most of the snow should accumulate on grassy and elevated surfaces.
But they say a 1-to-2 hour period with rates near one inch per hour may cause some slushy accumulations on roads.
They also say any lingering moisture may lead to slippery spots on the roads as temperatures fall below freezing.
Gusty winds of 20 to 30 mph are also forecasted, creating single-digit wind chills by Saturday morning.
