Day School Board Chooses New School Leader

Evansville Day School

Sarah Jacobson is currently an associate head of school in Buffalo, N.Y.

Evansville Day School has announced a new leader. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The school’s Board of Trustees has chosen Sarah Jacobson as the next Head of School, effective July 1st.

The trustees say the unanimous decision was based on a search committee's enthusiastic recommendation resulting from a national search that started last fall.

Jacobson comes to Day School after completing coursework toward a Ph.D. in the Classics at the University of New York at Buffalo and at Brown University in Rhode Island.

Day School says she will finish up the academic year in her role as the Associate Head of School for Academics at the Nichols School in Buffalo.

Jacobson also has an M.A. in Classics from the University of Arizona at Tucson, and a B.A. in Classics and Spanish from Hendrix College in Arkansas.

She and her daughter Emily will visit Day School this month.

Jacobson is expected to visit again for Day School’s Gala in April.
