A former Indiana State Senator is seeking a seat on the Vanderburgh County Council. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Bob Deig has filed for a County Council At-Large seat.

Deig is no stranger to government, having served as a state senator in District 49, which includes Evansville’s West Side and Posey County.

He’s also served on the Posey County Council and as a Posey County Commissioner.

Deig says he’s lived in Vanderburgh County for six years and wants to bring his experience to its County Council.

He lists a few of his priorities as public safety, expanding existing and attracting new businesses, continuing to expand broadband services, and connecting the Evansville riverfront with other communities.

The filing deadline for Indiana’s May Primary is February 9th.
