Detective Nathan Hassler become EPD's second in command

Officials have announced Evansville’s new Assistant Police Chief. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Mayor Stephanie Terry and new Police Chief Philip Smith say Detective Nathan Hassler will move to the Department’s second in command.

Hassler is an Evansville native who attended Westside Catholic School and Mater Dei High School.

He also attended the University of Southern Indiana before being hired as an Evansville Police Officer in 2010.

Assistant Chief Hassler is also a graduate of the Southwestern Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, and has served in Evansville’s West Sector.

He’s also served in the Mobile Field Force, Gang Task Force, and as a Field Training Officer.

In 2016, Hassler was promoted to Detective and assigned to the Meth Suppression Unit.
