Work begins soon on the first of three roundabouts in the Henderson area. As WNIN’s John Gibson reports, it’s part of the I-69 Ohio River Crossing:
Officials say the roundabouts will be built at the future site of the KY 351/2nd Street interchange with I-69.
The work will close a section of northbound KY 2084 as soon as this Friday.
Officials say phased construction at the 351/2nd St. intersection will allow crews to complete the majority of the western most roundabout before school begins this fall.
KY 2084 will also be widened to allow for future two-way traffic.
Drivers can expect lane shifts and reduced lane widths on Kentucky 351 as soon as Friday.
Lane shifts will also be in place from Franklin Avenue to the on and off ramps of US 41, west of the overpass, through early July.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and stay alert as work continues on the Ohio River Crossing project.
The four-lane bridge connecting Henderson and Evansville is expected to open in 2031.
