Jasper Arts Gets Boost from NEA

File

The $10,000 grant will help with school arts programs

Jasper Community Arts is receiving a financial boost. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The group says it’s been selected as a recipient of a $10,000 Challenge America grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Jasper organization says the grant will play a pivotal role in supporting two educational performances for local schools this semester.

NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson says the grant will contribute to the strength and well-being of the arts sector and the Jasper community.

Jackson says the goal is to help create an environment where all people have the opportunity to live “artful lives."

The grant for Jasper is one of more than 250 Challenge America awards being distributed, amounting to more than $2.5 million.
