We expect a short break from the cold snap this week, before another chance of snow comes our way. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
The National Weather Service is calling for high temperatures near the freezing mark in the Evansville area on Wednesday and Thursday, after several days of topping out in the teens.
While sunshine is expected on Wednesday, precipitation should move in Thursday – and as is frequently the case, Evansville will be near the rain-snow line.
Forecasters aren’t saying much yet about possible snow or ice accumulations.
Evansville received less than a half-inch of snow Sunday evening, but western Kentucky saw more significant accumulations and a little more snow Monday evening.
That prompted many schools in southwest Indiana to start classes two hours late today (Tues), while many schools in western Kentucky were either closed or conducted classes online.
Forecasters say the next precipitation will precede another blast of colder air by Friday – with sub-zero wind chills.
