Thursday's sunny and mild weather will give way to rainy, windy, and much colder conditions. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
Forecasters are warning of high winds, heavy rain, and bitter cold as we move into the weekend.
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for Friday, with gusts up to 60 miles an hour possible.
Forecasters also warn of possible thunderstorms and flooding before Artic air moves in -- possibly changing rain to sleet and snow by Friday night, with little or no accumulation.
The weather service says the cold conditions will only intensify in the coming days, with highs in the low 30’s on Saturday, the low 20’s on Sunday, and in the teens on Martin Luther King Day.
Sub-zero wind chills are also expected.
Forecasters are also calling for snow Sunday night and Monday night, but it’s not clear if we’ll see any significant accumulation.
