Kevin Roach served as managing artistic director since 2016

The head of Evansville’s Civic Theatre has resigned. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Kevin Roach announced his resignation as Managing Artistic Director of Evansville Civic Theatre.

A Facebook post from the theatre group’s Board of Directors did not say why Roach stepped down.

The board thanked him for what it called his “extraordinary passion for the arts.”

Roach accepted the role of Civic’s Managing Artistic Director in 2016.

His resignation comes at a transitional time for Civic Theatre. The theatre left its longtime home on Fulton Avenue and is temporarily performing at Bosse High School, before a planned move to the Evansville Coliseum.

The theatre group’s board expressed its “deepest appreciation” for Roach’s contributions and wished him the best of luck “wherever his journey takes him next.”
