Eligible Evansville residents can put their Christmas trees next to their city trash carts

Now that Christmas is behind us, many Evansville residents can easily dispose of their Christmas trees. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The city of Evansville has begun its annual Christmas tree disposal, which runs through January 6th.

Residents can simply place their real Christmas trees on the ground next to their trash cart on the day of their trash pickup and Republic Services will take them to the landfill.

The service is only for Evansville residents who pay for trash and recycling on their monthly utility bill.

Residents who live in apartment complexes, mobile home communities, and customers outside the city limits are not eligible.

Retail stores, commercial establishments, and business customers are also not eligible.

After January 6th, Evansville Water and Sewer customers can still dispose of their Christmas trees by placing them inside their regular trash cart.
