Braun Asks Biden to Restrict China Travel

WFYI
Sen. Mike Braun (R)

Braun and 4 other Senators cite spreading illness in the communist country

U.S. Senator Mike Braun of Indiana and four other Republican senators have sent a letter to President Joe Biden urging him to restrict travel between the U.S. and China. WNIN’s John Gibson explains:

Braun says travel should be restricted until more is known about respiratory illnesses that have spread in China.

In a release, Braun says if history is any indication, the U.S. has cause to be concerned.

The COVID-19 pandemic began in China.

A Chinese health official told Reuters over the weekend that the surge in respiratory illnesses is caused by known pathogens and there was no sign of new infectious diseases.

China is facing its first full winter since lifting strict COVID-19 restrictions.

The letter to Biden was signed by Braun and Senators Rubio, Vance, Scott, and Tuberville.
