A somber ceremony is set for next week in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has a preview:
Aurora will sponsor the annual Homeless Memorial Service in partnership with the National Homeless Person’s Memorial Day.
This year’s event is planned for Thursday evening at 5:30 at Trinity United Methodist Church on SE 3rd Street.
Since the Memorial Service began in 1990, Aurora asks that we pay respects to individuals who have lost their lives while homeless in our area.
The service will recognize and reflect on eight individuals who have passed away in 2023, as they become part of the 170 lives lost in the past 33 years.
The service includes a candle-lighting ceremony, moments of personal reflection, and a time to remember those who are often left behind or forgotten.
Aurora will share a live stream of Thursday evening’s service on its Facebook page.
