The mayor-elect's group is diverse and bipartisan

Evansville’s Mayor-Elect has announced her transition team. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

Stephanie Terry introduced the team led by retired Old National Bank CEO Bob Jones and the Reverend Adrian Brooks, pastor of Memorial Baptist Church.

Terry calls them an amazing team:

"That have already proven themselves to be committed volunteers digging in to do the real work required to stand up our administration and ensure our first 100 days and beyond are successful."

While Democrats outnumber Republicans on Terry’s diverse team, it is a bipartisan group.

Terry also says the Winnecke administration has been “tremendous” in the transition:

"And I meet frequently with Mayor Winnecke and his team members and over the coming weeks here those meetings will increase. But they've been a tremendous help and a great resource to our team."

She notes Winnecke himself will soon lead the Evansville Regional Economic Partnership, so she anticipates many conversations with him after January 1st.

Terry also announced the creation of the website teamevansville.com, where interested residents can learn about applying for positions in her administration:

"We have heard from many in the community that are interested in serving along side us and our working with our team to fully vet and to select qualified and diverse team members, the best we possibly can."

Terry will be sworn-in on New Year’s Day.

She will be the first female mayor of Evansville and the first mayor of color.
