Vanderburgh County Election Board members execute a mock election Thursday, Sept, 29. The votes are entered via touch screen. The machine then prints a small paper ballot to be tabulated.

Voters will likely elect the city's first female mayor

Early voting ended Monday in Evansville, one day before a historic city election. WNIN's John Gibson has a preview:

Municipal elections are being held across Indiana, and in Evansville the new mayor will make history.

If either Republican Natalie Rascher or Democrat Stephanie Terry wins, we will have the city’s first-ever female mayor.

Terry would also be the first mayor of color.

If Libertarian Michael Daugherty wins, he would be the first third-party winner in modern history.

Voters will also choose city council members and other office-holders.

Tuesday's election is only open to registered voters who live within the city limits.

Vote Centers will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
