“And then if you would just pull your ballot from the envelope and fold it in half … and then we're going to put it in the envelope and I will seal that shut.”
Vanderburgh County assistant clerk Anita Roll is helping early voters at EVPL’s Central Location. Voters began utilizing EVPL Central on October 11 in the second floor Quiet Study Room.
They’ve averaged 100 votes per day since then.
On Monday, October 23rd, early voting began at Red Bank, North Park and Oaklyn branches. Voting is open noon to 6 PM Monday through Thursday, and until 5 PM Fridays.
Voters will have the chance to elect a new Evansville Mayor and members of city council.
“You can use your fingertip and just press OK,” said Elections clerk Cathy Fulkerson helping a voter get started on October 16. “… And then I'm going to print a ticket out for you, which you will hand to one of our judges and then we're just set up on a machine developed. And thank you for coming to vote.”
Roll said they’ve had steady voting since opening. “And we always encourage people to please you know, encourage everyone you know, to come vote. So and in this early voting is makes it really easy for people. It's nice.”
