HRC Announces Diversity Award Winners

1619 Author Nikole Hannah-Jones will speak at the Awards Dinner Oct. 27th

The Evansville-Vanderburgh County Human Relations Commission has announced the winners of the 2023 Mayor’s Celebration of Diversity Awards. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The winners will be honored at a dinner Friday, October 27, at Old National Events Plaza.

The keynote speaker will be Nikole Hannah-Jones, the Pulitzer Prize-winning creator of the 1619 Project.

Award winners include Roseyn Hood, Gelina Mascoe, Kelsey Shapker, and Southwest Behavioral Healthcare.

Posthumous awards will honor the late Alice Weathers and Dr. Ira Neal.

The deadline to purchase tickets for the event has been extended until Wednesday.
