Needed Rain Expected This Week

September has been dry in the Evansville area

Some needed rain is on the way to the Tri-State. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

September is often a fairly dry month in Evansville, averaging just over 3 inches of rain.

But as this September winds down, only about a half-inch of rain has been recorded at Evansville Regional Airport.

That should change over the next couple of days.

The National Weather Service is calling for chances of showers and thunderstorms through Thursday.

Forecasters are not expecting a breakout of severe weather, but they say an isolated strong to severe storm can’t be ruled out – with small hail and gusty winds the primary threats.

The rain should provide some needed moisture before moving out of the region in time for a sunny, warm weekend.
