County Sends $50,000 to ECHO

Funding is part of American Rescue Plan

Vanderburgh County has awarded American Rescue Plan money to a local housing group. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

County Commissioners, with the support from the county council, presented $50,000 in federal money to ECHO Housing Corporation.

It’s part of appropriated funds to area non-profit organizations whose missions focus on arts, culture, and educational initiatives.

The Rescue Plan was a federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic and its negative economic impacts,

ECHO has provided housing opportunities in Evansville and Vanderburgh County since 1991.

The group’s mission is to create and sustain safe and affordable housing, to provide compassionate supportive services, and to promote community and economic development.
