The Evansville Wartime Museum has announced a new leader. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The facility on Petersburg Road says Sean Georges will become its executive director September 5th.
Museum officials say Georges has an extensive career in military service and corporate leadership.
He’s a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis and earned law degrees from the University of Illinois and the University of Virginia.
Georges served as a commissioned officer in the Marines for 13 years, and had a 22-year career with Shoe Carnival, serving as Senior Vice-President for Human Resources, General Counsel, and Secretary to the Board of Directors.
Wartime Museum Board Chairman Mark Browning says Georges experience, enthusiastic volunteers, and staff will help the museum “significantly expand” its ability to tell the stories of Evansville’s industry, home front workers, and military.
