The Rhine Valley Brass Band rehearsed during the group’s media night last week, preparing for the club’s 61st Volksfest.
The three-day festival at the club on Fulton Avenue starts Thursday with the traditional tapping of the first keg.
Festival co-chair Dan Mills invites the public to enjoy the usual attractions:
"Sell a lot of beer, have a lot of good German food, bands will be playing outside (and) inside, so I mean it's going to be a whole lot of fun."
The food offerings include bratwurst, pig knuckles, and kraut balls.
Club member Harold Gries (grease) has been around even longer than the Volksfest, he’s 91:
"Time flies when you're having fun."
The Germania Volksfest also includes the Brat Trot 5K Saturday morning and a Kids Corner from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
The Kids Corner offers free food, back packs, a bouncy house, and more for kids 12 and under.
