City, Coca-Cola Offering Rain Barrels Again

File

They can be picked up Thursday on the Civic Center's "Back 40"

You have another opportunity to collect rain and reduce your water consumption. WNIN’s John Gibson explains:

The City of Evansville has announced a continued partnership with the Coca-Cola Company for its Rain Barrel Program.

The goal is to promote water conservation, and the city says it’s been a “tremendous success” so far.

Coca-Cola will again donate 55-gallon plastic drums to be converted into rain barrels.

They collect rainwater, which can be used for things like watering plants, gardens, and lawns – instead of using water from the tap.

The barrels will be available for pick-up Thursday at 11 a.m. on the Back 40 Parking Lot, behind the Civic Center.

They’ll be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
