The University of Southern Indiana has approved a new operating budget. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:
USI’s Board of Trustees approved a $127.3 million operating budget for the 2023-24 fiscal year.
That’s up from nearly $119 million last year.
Undergraduate students living in Indiana will pay just short of $300 per credit hour this fall, compared to about $280 per credit hour last school year.
Out-of-state undergraduates will pay about $727 per credit hour compared to about $682 last year.
Graduate student fees also rose.
The board approved miscellaneous fees for 2023-24, including the athletics fee which doubled from $60 to $120 after the university moved from the NCAA’s Division Two to Division One.
Meantime, the trustees approved financial aid for the 2023-24 academic year and received an update on current campus construction projects during today’s (Thur) meeting.
USI’s income is derived from two primary sources: tuition and fees, and state appropriations.
