Rascher Cleared of Wrongdoing

File

The complaint challenged the Evansville mayoral candidate on her actions while on the alcoholic beverage board

Republican candidate for Evansville Mayor Natalie Rascher has been cleared of wrongdoing after a complaint was filed against her during the May primary campaign. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Former deputy prosecutor Neil Thomas filed the complaint regarding Rascher’s position on the Vanderburgh County Alcohol Beverage Commission.

The complaint alleged she accepted campaign donations from a bar owner while she was an acting member of the ABC.

The complaint also raised questions about bars and liquor stores displaying campaign signs for Rascher.

But the Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission cleared Rascher of any wrongdoing and the investigation was closed due to insufficient evidence.

Rascher told the Courier & Press she was grateful that what she called a "baseless claim" was quickly resolved.

Rascher beat Cheryl Musgrave in the May primary and faces Democrat Stephanie Terry in the November general election.
