A half million dollars is on the way to Kentucky riverports, including those in Henderson and Owensboro. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Gov. Andy Beshear announced the grants, which include more than $162,000 for the Owensboro Riverport Authority.
The money will provide new forklifts and a track loader.
$122,000 is headed for the Henderson Riverport Authority for a new truck scale and access drives.
The rest of the grant goes to facilities in Eddyville and Paducah.
Beshear says one of his top priorities is elevating Kentucky’s multimodal transportation system.
The funding was approved in the state legislature and must be matched by local governments.
