Smoke from wildfires in Canada is once again prompting air alerts across Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
The state’s Department of Environmental Management has issued statewide Air Quality Action Days for both Tuesday and Wednesday.
IDEM is forecasting high levels of fine particles in the air due to the Canadian wildfire plume moving north to south.
The agency is urging everyone – not just sensitive groups -- to reduce or avoid exertion outdoors.
A state map including regions and affected counties is available at SmogWatch.IN.gov.
Meanwhile, the smoke is expected to be followed by the hottest air of the season -- so far -- on Thursday and Friday, with predicted highs temperatures near 100.
