The gates to one of the largest music festivals around opened last night at Owensboro’s Yellow Creek Park.
ROMP runs Wednesday through Saturday. Full festival tickets are $105, and free for children.
There’s more than 20 acts, both legacy, such as 2018 Bluegrass Hall of Fame Inductee Ricky Skaggs — and modern — such as Molly Tuttle who will be performing with Golden Highway Thursday night at 10:30.
Another example is Damn Tall Buildings, a Brooklyn Based trio. They perfomed Wedesday.
Skaggs is performing Friday with his band Kentucky Thunder.
A festival of the Bluegrass Hall of Fame, ROMP drew more than 18,000 to Owensboro in 2022.
It’s a pet-friendly and family friendly event with kids activities and a free trolley to the grounds.
