The Evansville Fire Department has dedicated a new fire truck. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
The pumper was dedicated at the Ford Center on Tuesday.
It will be stationed at Hose House 10 at Columbia and Heidelbach, beginning later this month.
In the meantime, crews will train on the new truck.
The EFD followed a long-standing tradition and dedicated the apparatus to a deceased firefighter, in this case Kerry Postlewaite, who served six years.
His name will be permanently displayed on each side of the truck.
The EFD says the 2023 Pierce Pumper was built in Wisconsin and carried a price tag of about $654,000.00.
