The utility says "Budget Bill" customers will see 9-to-22 percent drop

CenterPoint Energy is promising lower utility bills for its “budget bill” customers in southwest Indiana. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Texas-based utility is citing stable weather and a decrease in energy costs.

CenterPoint says Budget Bill customers with only electric service will see a decrease in their monthly bill of about nine percent.

If you get both electricity and natural gas from CenterPoint, you should see about a 13 percent decrease.

And customers with only natural gas service should see about a 22 percent decrease in their monthly bills.

CenterPoint Senior Vice President Richard Leger says the Budget Bill is a good option for customers who want consistency in their energy bills.

Under the payment plan, a customer's estimated annual natural gas and/or electric service costs are spread out in equal monthly amounts for the year.
