Search for a permanent leader did not yield a “candidate of choice"

The University of Southern Indiana has named an interim provost. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

USI has announced that Dr. Shelly Blunt, currently the Dean of the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education, will become Interim Provost for the University, effective July 1st.

She will succeed Dr. Mohammed Khayum is retiring after four years as Provost and 32 years at USI.

In a release, USI President Ron Rochon noted a search did not yield a “candidate of choice for USI” but he says Blunt’s appointment will ensure “continued stability for the University.”

USI says Blunt has a long track record of leadership.

The University also named Dr. William Elliott, Jr. as Interim Dean of the Pott College, when Blunt moves to Provost.
