Jehovah's Witnesses Return to Evansville

The group will hold its first in-person conference since 2019

After a three-year absence, Jehovah’s Witnesses are returning to Evansville for their regional conference. WNIN’s John Gibson has more:

The group consisting of followers from Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois, and Tennessee will meet at the Ford Center this weekend and next.

Spokesman Chris Kimball says it’s great to be back in person:

"We love being together as an organization and we're excited to be back here in Evansville. Evansville has always been an outstanding supporter of our conventions so we're happy to be here."

Kimball notes that Evansville has hosted the conference since 2003:

"The Ford Center is a wonderful facility for us, it's comfortable. We typically have five-to-six thousand attendees each weekend so it's a nice size for us. The hotels have been very hospitable, lots of restaurants to choose from."

The conference pumps millions of dollars into the local economy by filling up hotels, restaurants, and other area businesses.

The theme of this year’s conference is patience, which Kimball notes they’ve had to practice while waiting to resume the conference in Evansville.
