Boil Order Issued for Lynnville Customers

File

Testing of the tap water showed e-coli bacteria

Lynnville water customers are being advised to boil their tap water. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Town of Lynnville has issued a Boil Water Order after a water sample from the town’s water tower tested positive for E. coli bacteria.

The town says a routine sample tested Tuesday contained coliform bacteria, and a follow-up test confirmed the presence of E. coli.

The bacteria can cause potential health effects.

Lynnville water customers are urged to bring tap water to a complete boil for five minutes before using it for cooking or drinking until the boil order is lifted.

The town’s water system is operated by Veolia North America, which officials say is working with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management to remedy the situation and protect public health.
