The Downtown Evansville bar has been closed since February crash

The drinks are flowing again at a popular Downtown Evansville bar. WNIN’s John Gibson has the update:

The Peephole Bar and Grill at Main and 2nd streets is reopening after a car crashed through the front door of the establishment on the afternoon of February 16th.

The car went all the way into the building, striking an employee preparing to open the bar.

He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. The driver was not hurt.

Coordinating with an insurance company and repairing the damage at the establishment took more than two-and-a-half months.

On its Facebook page, the Peephole refers to the incident as “Carmageddon 2023” and welcomes patrons back to the bar.
