NWS: Fire Danger High on Thursday

NWS

The weather service has issued a Red Flag Warning

Forecasters are warning of an increased fire danger in the Evansville area Thursday. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The National Weather Service has upgraded Thursday's Fire Weather Watch to a Red Flag Warning in southwest Indiana and western Kentucky.

Forecasters say high winds, low humidity, and warm temperatures will create critical fire weather conditions.

Outdoor burning is not recommended.

The weather service says any fires will likely spread rapidly.

The fire hazard will be followed by potentially strong storms.

Forecasters say heavy rain will be the biggest threat as storms move across the region tonight through Friday.
