Evansville Wartime Museum chooses the "Name the Tank" contest winner

The Evansville Wartime Museum now has a name for its 1943 Sherman Tank. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

The Wartime Museum on Petersburg Road says the vintage tank has been named “Rosie’s Revenge” – a reference to Rosie the Riveter, the star of a World War Two campaign to recruit women into the workforce.

The winner of the “Name the Tank Contest” was Larry Kjeldsen of Indianapolis.

The museum says Kjeldsen plans to move to Evansville and become a museum volunteer.

Wet conditions and high winds forced the museum to cancel tank rides over the weekend.

The next tank ride event is set for Saturday, May 6th.

The museum hosts tank rides the first Saturday of every month from Noon to 3:30.
