A house fire in Evansville forced residents from their home. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
Firefighters were dispatched to 810 E. Gum St late Saturday night and found fire at the back of the house.
The occupants had gotten out safely.
Investigators determined the fire started on the back porch, then extended into the kitchen and attic space.
Crews extinguished the blaze in about 15 minutes.
There was smoke damage throughout the home.
The fire was classified as accidental due to discarded trash which had been burned, not fully extinguished, and left unattended.
The American Red Cross was called to assist the family.
No injuries were reported.
