Tri-State Faces Heavy Rain, Flood Threat

NWS

The NWS says the area could see 2-to-4 inches

Forecasters are warning of heavy rain and possible flooding in the Evansville area. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch that goes into effect Thursday night and continues through Friday night.

Forecasters say rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected across the Watch area, with isolated amounts of 5 inches possible.

Thunderstorms may accompany the heavy rain.

Forecasters say excessive runoff can result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
