Industry Forum Set for Potential I-69 Contractors

File

The event is set for April 13th at City View on Fulton Avenue

Transportation officials are looking for contractors to help build an I-69 bridge over the Ohio River. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The Indiana Department of Transportation will conduct an industry forum in Evansville -- and contractors, material suppliers, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises are invited.

Officials will provide information on the planned Section 3 of the I-69 Ohio River Crossing, which includes the approach roadways and bridges on the Indiana side of the river.

The session is set for Thursday, April 13th, at the City View facility on Fulton Avenue, just north of the Lloyd Expressway.

Contracts are expected to be awarded this fall, with construction starting in early 2024.

Plans call for a four-lane toll bridge to be erected east of the existing Twin Bridges.

Under the plans, one of the Twin Bridges would be demolished and the other would remain as a two-lane bridge for local traffic.
