USI Player Back in Evansville After Collapse

File

Tyler Henry had a "medical incident" during Saturday night's game at SE Missouri State

A USI basketball player who collapsed on the court over the weekend is back in Evansville. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:

During the men's basketball game at Southeast Missouri State Saturday night, USI guard Tyler Henry suffered a medical incident with 17.7 seconds to play in the game.

After receiving medical care on the court, Henry was transported to Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau in stable condition and the game was ended.

USI Head Coach Stan Gouard says Henry is in good spirits and back in Evansville under medical observation.

There was no word on what caused Henry to collapse.

Gouard says teammates, coaches, and the USI community support the Brooklyn, New York resident and wish him a “successful recovery."

Gouard also thanked first responders, the Southeast Missouri medical staff, and the University for acting quickly in helping Henry.
