The $750,000 is part of the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative -- or READI

READI funding will help the University of Evansville develop a community-based wellness clinic. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

UE’s Multidisciplinary Mental Health and Wellness Clinic has received $750,000.

The funding is part of the Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative -- or READI.

Mary Kessler, Dean of the UE College of Education and Health Sciences, says the goal is to provide students with “transformational educational and clinical experiences.”

Kessler says the clinic will improve their overall competency while also assisting the Evansville region with increasing and retaining needed health care providers.

This fall, UE will admit its first graduate students for the newly developed Doctor of Clinical Psychology program. A key component of the program is the development of a community-based clinic.
