A mix of freezing rain, sleet, and snow could put an icy glaze on Tri-State roads Monday night and Tuesday. WNIN’s John Gibson has the story:
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory, in effect until 9:00 Tuesday morning.
Forecasters say sleet and snow could accumulate up to an inch, with ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch – enough to turn roads icy.
The mixed precipitation is expected to move from west to east, before clearing the area by mid-morning Tuesday.
The wintry mix comes just 24 hours after parts of the Tri-State dealt with sleet and freezing rain during the Monday morning commute.
