Facility to be installed in the former Power and Light building

A new bourbon distillery is planned for Henderson. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has announced a $5 million investment from the startup Henderson Distilling Company.

The facility is planned for the former Henderson Municipal Power & Light building on Water St. in downtown Henderson.

Officials say it will be a full production distillery, along with corresponding tourism and retail space.

The startup is expected to create 12 full-time jobs.

Henderson Distilling Co. co-founder and President Andrew Powell says he’s “thrilled” to establish the company in Henderson

Henderson County Judge Executive Brad Schneider noted bourbon tourism is booming, and getting Henderson on the map will “introduce our county to a whole new segment of visitors.”

Henderson Distilling received incentives from the state.

Officials hope to open the distillery in summer 2024.
