Easterseals says the annual Ritzy’s Fantasy of Lights was a success, despite some harsh weather. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:
Easterseals says the 29th annual light display between Thanksgiving and New Year’s in Garvin Park raised nearly $220,000 for its Rehabilitation Center.
The agency says more than 12,000 vehicles – including horse-drawn carriages – visited the drive-thru display.
This year’s total also included more than $26,000 in extra donations above and beyond their admission fees.
Easterseals estimates this year’s proceeds will help underwrite more than 4,300 therapy sessions for local children and adults with disabilities.
The event had to deal with a bitter cold snap, snow, and rain.
Volunteers will dismantle and take down the more than 70 light displays this weekend.
