$20,000 Donation to Help Red Kettle Campaign

Salvation Army

Salvation Army says anonymous donor hopes to inspire others

An anonymous gift is boosting the local Red Kettle campaign. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

The Salvation Army of Evansville says an anonymous $20,000 gift will double cash donations made to the Red Kettles through Christmas Eve in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties.

The group says the money from the "angel donor" was donated in the hope that last-minute holiday shoppers would be inspired to give generously.

The donations help programs including the Salvation Army's feeding program that provided more than 188,000 meals and grocery orders to help fight food insecurity.

The organization is also conducting its Toy Town event this week for families who signed up for the program.
