Prices at the Pump Drop Below $3 in Evansville

File

Gasoline even cheaper in KY, diesel still high

Just in time for the holidays: lower prices at the gas pump. WNIN’s John Gibson takes a look:

Gasoline prices have dipped below $3 a gallon at some Evansville stations.

That’s a $2 drop since prices peaked around $5 a gallon last June.

The Triple-A says increased supplies and steady gasoline demand have contributed to lower prices at the pump in Indiana.

Gasoline prices are even lower in Kentucky, where fewer taxes are added.

But diesel fuel prices remain high, above $5 a gallon at many stations.

That’s blamed on increased demand, a transition to lower-sulfur mixes, and higher federal excise taxes.
