Severe Storms Possible in Tri-State

File

Higher risk is south of Evansville

The Tri-State faces a risk of severe storms today and tonight. WNIN’s John Gibson has details:

The National Weather Service says the best chance for severe weather in our area is in western Kentucky.

The Evansville area faces only a marginal risk of severe storms, while areas to the south are listed as a “slight risk.”

Forecasters say an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out in western Kentucky or southern Illinois.

Regardless of storms, the entire area can expect high winds from the south gusting to more than 30 miles an hour.

The wind is forecast to shift to the northwest tonight, dropping temperatures to near the freezing mark, with sub-freezing wind chills.
