The president of USI will become chairman of the board for the American Association of State Colleges and Universities. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:
Dr. Ron Rochon was chosen to serve a one-year term as Chair-Elect of the Association’s Board of Directors, before beginning a term as Chair in 2024.
The move was announced during the group’s annual conference on Tuesday.
Rochon has been a board member since 2020, and currently serves on the Executive Committee and chairs the Millennium Leadership Initiative Executive Steering Committee.
In a release from USI, Rochon said he was “deeply humbled by the opportunity.”
The association is a Washington-based higher education group consisting of nearly 400 public colleges, universities, and systems.
The association says its members share a learning- and teaching-centered culture, a historic commitment to underserved student populations, and a dedication to research and creativity that advances their regions’ economic progress and cultural development.
