Talks Continue on Resuming Flights at EVV

Spokeswoman cites conversations with existing and potential new airlines

Efforts continue to resume flights that have been paused at Evansville Regional Airport. WNIN’s John Gibson reports:

EVV spokeswoman Leslie Fella told WNIN that conversations are ongoing for a wide range of air service:

"Whether existing routes for more frequency, larger planes, as well as flights that have been currently paused. And then we also continue to talk to existing airlines and potential new airlines for new routes."

Evansville Regional currently offers nonstop daily connections to Atlanta, Charlotte, and Dallas.

EVV also has nondaily flights to Orlando and seasonal flights to Destin, Florida.

Delta Airlines paused its daily service to Detroit earlier this year after American Airlines stopped its daily flights to Chicago.

Before that, United Airlines ended its Chicago flights and pulled out of Evansville Regional entirely.

Airlines have blamed the pandemic, pilot shortages, and production delays for the flight reductions.

Mayor Winnecke has urged the local business community to keep flying EVV.
